Sabioncello is a destination guide for the Pelješac peninsula, aimed primarily at international visitors. The project started from a design concept and grew into a complete content system.
The challenge
A destination guide poses a different problem from a presentation site: there is a lot of content and it has to stay findable. Visitors arrive with different intentions, beaches, wine, accommodation, activities, so the structure has to absorb growth without becoming unnavigable. The audience is international, which places demands on both language and load speed from abroad.
Approach
Content was organised into clear thematic sections with consistent templates, so every new page automatically inherits the correct heading structure and internal linking. Technical SEO was treated as part of the architecture rather than a later addition: semantic headings, descriptive URLs and optimised images. The visual language leans on landscape photography with restrained typography.
What was built
- Thematic content architecture that scales with the number of pages
- Internal linking that carries visitors through related topics
- Technical SEO built into the templates rather than bolted on
- Visual storytelling built on destination photography
Stack
Delivery
The guide was published and structured so new destinations and topics can be added without further development work.
